Cassini has announced significant momentum for its IoT start-up ThingForward. The latest ThingForward innovation - ioRaptor - has entered a strategic reseller agreement with PlatformIO. The ThingForward IoT solution ioRaptor is the first rapid tooling framework for the Internet of Things.
ioRaptor provides an open source, modern development toolchain for use with IoT devices. From now on, together with PlatformIO, the offering of ioRaptor will extend significantly, making it particularly promising for enterprises and the education market.
“This validates the relevance of our work at ThingForward and the idea we believe in”, says Oliver van Laak, CEO of the Cassini Group. “In less than six months, we’ve gone from product launch to customer availability, while building multiple solutions. The agreement with PlatformIO extends our offering and provides enterprise and educational developers with a fantastic tool to support their embedded hardware.”
ThingForward CTO Andreas Schmidt believes that PlatformIO is a great addition to the world of embedded development. It not only introduces a new level of abstraction on the embedded platforms toolchain management, but also makes agile methodologies - such as continuous integration (CI) and remote automation capabilities - available to the world of IoT development.
Ivan Kravets, CEO of PlatformIO, sees in the agreement with ThingForward´s ioRaptor an important move forward to strengthen PlatformIO´s position in the enterprise and professional embedded market. As part of the Cassini Group, ThingForward is uniquely positioned with its existing customer base, the enterprise software and hardware ecosystem. He expects the relationship to foster the growth of the project for both sides immediately.
