Connecting IoT devices with smartphone interaction is a task which can be difficult - But it doesn’t need to be! It’s possible to use easy-to-handle development frameworks for creating mobile apps. Together with developer friendly embedded boards like the RPi (Raspberry Pi) and with some Python magic, we can quickly create a IoT device which can communicate via several network protocols with your mobile phone. We will give an overview of this process from setting up an embedded development board along with a C++ Qt/Qml smartphone app. Finally, we’ll test different communication ways and review their possibilities.
Learning content & knowledge Transfer:
- Finally, we will develop a simple C++ Qt/Qml Smartphone application to communicate with our Python apps which are hosted on our Raspberry Pi and accessed by its access Point
- Then we are going to create some MQTT, HTTP and BLE Python applications
- We will be setting up a Raspberry PI including a WiFi access point
